Response:
All of the courses required are ones that I'm already interested in taking. The lab work and projects involved would be very interesting. I like the fact that there are individual and group projects. This field would be a good one to look into. So far I've learned many skills that would assist me in this job. Using chemical indicators, learning about calorimetry, and graphing experimental data using Logger-Pro are all valuable skills to have in this occupation.
- Advanced placement courses in biology, chemistry, calculus, and physics
- Master's degree is required
- PhD in biochemistry or chemistry is necessary to participate in serious research projects
- Training focused on laboratory skills is required
Responsibilities and Daily Activities:
- Work with research teams
- Individual projects
- Attend seminars and conferences

ENDOCRINOLOGIST
Education/Training:
Ananya, Mandal. Endocrinologist-What is an Endocrinologist?.Retrieved from www.news-medical.net/health/Endocrinologist-What-is-an-Endocrinologist.aspx
Response:
The overall biochemistry involved seems really interesting. There's a lot of schooling and work involved to get there, though. Once again, helping people would be amazing to do for a living. I'm not sure how the job outlook for this occupation is, but it would be worth looking into. This career journal ended up in my portfolio because of the massive connection it has to what we've studied so far. Endocrinologists can become so specific in their field of work that they deal with only a single hormone. In class, we've basically done just that in the diabetes unit.
- Advanced placement courses in biology, chemistry, calculus
- 4 years of medical school
- 3-4 years in an internship and residency program
- Extensive first-hand experience
- Diagnose and treat hormone imbalances
- Restore normal levels of hormones in the body
- Educate patients on how the complication has occurred
